This is a concept sizing tool. The formulas below are transparent planning assumptions, not a manufacturer's machine-selection algorithm.
01 · Product & carrier
Capture maximum item W × D × H, payload, centre of gravity, contact/support points, surface protection, permitted orientation, tray tare, deflection and retention. Tray count and item count are different: the door-panel requirement is a minimum of 64 trays.
02 · Storage geometry
Set usable tray size, rim allowance, vertical pitch, rack banks, bays per bank, base/top mechanism space and excluded positions for access or recovery. One transfer aisle serves up to two single-depth banks. Multiple bays require horizontal travel.
03 · Handling & duty
Check gross lifted mass, load distribution, lift/transfer strokes, acceleration, speed, access height, cycle mix, picks per hour, duty, barcode tracking and recovery. The 3D model shows the storage envelope, not a validated transfer mechanism.
04 · Installation & environment
Confirm slab and anchor loads, point reactions, routes/door openings, MEP obstructions, egress, maintenance removal, fire access, power, ESD, particle emissions, airflow and cleaning methods. A 500 mm roof margin is geometric only.
Calculation definitions
Cycle model: one tray retrieved and returned, an external end port at 900 mm, full horizontal travel from the end port to the furthest bay, sequential axis motion and trapezoidal/triangular acceleration. Rate = 3,600 / cycle × duty factor. It excludes queues, AMR transit and docking, scanning delays outside entered operator time, concurrent motions, and detailed safety sequences. Average floor pressure is not a slab or anchor assessment. Input machine mass must be updated for the final construction.
Rev C · Interactive retrieval and independent areas
Toolroom and door-panel storage are in two independent spaces with separate dimensions, coordinates and underlays. Their relative building positions are unknown, so no shared room or inter-room AMR route is assumed. Toolroom starts at 10,000 mm length (five times the previous 2,000 mm), 3,200 mm depth and 5,000 mm height. Five bays per bank × two banks × 16 levels gives 160 trays. The extra width beyond the calculated rack minimum remains a configurable allowance; no structural span or mass is validated.
Use Simulate to choose a representative item, retrieve its tray, collect the item and return the empty tray to its original address. Manual mode waits for operator confirmation; AMR mode adds dispatch, docking and transfer confirmation. Auto demo automatically confirms each waiting step. Reset, replay and item selection intentionally restore demonstration inventory; this is not a live warehouse ledger or a machine controller.
The animated end port is outside the entered machine width, avoiding a transfer path through the storage banks. It needs additional footprint, guarding and a designed interface. The operator / AMR transfer is illustrative; support, lifting assistance, interlocks, handshake and payload distribution must be engineered. Simulation speed controls presentation pacing only and is separate from the sizing model's cycle estimate.
Why “16 × 4” needs checking
For the provisional 240 mm panel height, 40 mm tray structure and 60 mm handling gap, pitch = 340 mm. With 900 mm reserved for base/top mechanisms, 12 levels fit inside 5 m. Two banks × three bays × 12 levels = 72 gross positions; excluding eight leaves 64. Sixteen levels would require 6,340 mm with the same allowances.

The old “Class 10K” note is retained as a client reference, not used as a certified ISO designation. Confirm particle sizes, occupancy state and acceptance criteria with ASM. Starting dimensions other than the 5.0 m machine, 5.5 m ceiling and 64-tray panel minimum remain provisional. Toolroom defaults to the requested fivefold length concept: 10 m and 160 provisional tray positions.
Drawing status
Felix's email identifies “L3 Layout.dwg”. The drawing bytes were unavailable during this build. No site walls, columns or room boundaries have been derived from that DWG. Each independent area begins as its own assumed rectangle. You can import a flattened ASCII DXF or a dimensioned PNG/JPEG underlay locally. DXF blocks, 3D solids, text and unsupported entities are excluded and reported; import is not a DWG converter. Floor geometry is shown at floor level, not automatically reconstructed into a building model.
